why is water such a key element to finding life on other planets?
i understand that water is vital on this planet for supporting life. that is a given, even though there are animals that can survive with little water.
But we have grown and evolved on a planet that can and does support life through the medium of water. in the absence of water would a life form find another way to exist, and prevail. to quote an unrelated film, "life always finds a way".
